Patient recruitment on Facebook
I'm speaking at the ACRP Global Conference in Seattle this weekend. The theme of my talk is 'How to create a subject recruitment website that works'.
One of the things I'll be addressing is how to use Facebook to drive patients to your website. My thoughts are highlighted in this video.

Hi Tara - our experience is that the two best traffic drivers are (1) ranking highly in natural search results and (2) tightly targeted AdWords campaigns on Google. To get the best results using AdWords, I suggest you create at least 20 different versions - then test which version works best.
Meanwhile, you should think about making a video explaining the study to patients. This could be shown to them while they're in the waiting room at their doctor's office.
Many of our clients are using iPads to facilitate this. Besides being a great way to engage the patient, it also saves referring doctors time as they don't need to explain a given study from scratch.

I have worked with two recruitment companies similar to yours that have run Facebook campaigns for me. We have found that people click on the ad but we received very few inquiries and were not able to enroll anyone. I have also run Google campaigns on my own and tried all of the traditional media approaches. I have spent through my advertising budget and have been recruiting for over a year but have only enrolled 3 people. What do you recommend in a case like this?
